A few years ago, Bernhard Höning from Winnweiler in the Pfalz region invested 50,000 euros in a whiskey distillery. All the ingredients are locally sourced and Höning’s product - named Taranis after the Celtic god of thunder - has already made it into "Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible."
