Manual "Scavenging" Widespread in India

Nov. 19 is World Toilet Day. 2008 is the International Year of Sanitation. As India struggles to provide everybody access to toilets, many still have the job of cleaning other people's dry toilets with their bare hands. These "scavengers" belong to the low caste Dalits, formerly known as "untouchables".
