Here in Germany, one of the country's most senior woman bishops has resigned in the face of claims that she failed to stop sexual abuse by a pastor in her diocese. Witnessess say Maria Jepsen, the Lutheran bishop of Hamburg, knew about the claims in 1999. She insists she first heard of the abuse allegations earlier this year when she made the news public.
