They make passionate cyber-love, but they're only in it for money: the Web is crawling with marriage scammers. And they're getting more and more brazen.

The lonelier a person grows, the more easily love can blind them to common sense. They may well end up sending huge sums of money to strangers, thinking they're helping a lover through a financial rough patch. Experts call these fraudsters "Romance Scammers" and estimate that as many as 10,000 women in Germany alone fall for such packs of lies year for year. Police and prosecutors warn never to send internet acquaintances money. And if there's any doubt the long-distance lover boys and girls are actually who they say they are, never trust photographs but try to communicate through video phoning.
