Mark Post from the Netherlands is convinced that one day, steaks will be grown in the laboratory. A professor of biomedicine at the University of Maastricht, he’s an expert in tissue culturing. Some time ago, he had the idea that artificial beef and pork could be grown in the lab in much the same way that stem cells are used to grow artificial heart valves or artificial skin.
