The international pressure on Egypt to sort out the situation is growing as well... on Thursday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she told Pesident Mubarak to start dialog right away. Merkel was in Madrid for meetings with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodrigues Zapetero. The two leaders endorsed a European declaration calling for an immediate transition of power in Egypt. France, Britain and Italy have also signed the statement - which condemns the violence along the Nile.
