'Merz misunderstood his role'

Germany's parliament has rejected a controversial immigration overhaul proposed by the conservative CDU party. It would only have passed with support of the far-right AfD. Christoph Heubner, a representative of the International Auschwitz Committee, criticized the CDU for pushing through the vote, calling it "unacceptable" that the party would open the door to "right-wing extremists."
