With almost 10,000 unauthorized crossings recorded daily, the US-Mexico border is overwhelmed, according to the United States. A coordinated clampdown by the United States and Mexico could mean the end of the road for people who risk everything to make a long and daunting journey from southern Mexico, Central and South America, and beyond.
