Microsoft to Expand in Germany

August 30, 2005

US software giant Microsoft will create up to 100 new jobs in Germany, Microsoft Germany head Jürgen Gallmann told the Financial Times Deutschland. Gallmann said German arm of the Redmond, Washington-based company plans on expanding by 12 percent in this fiscal year, which ends on June 30, 2006. Microsoft Germany employed some 1,900 people and plans on hiring from 80 to 100 new employees. The company expects strong growth in the near future largely due to databank programs and mobile phone operating systems.
