Before Mikhail Khodorkovsky became known as a Kremlin critic and dissident, he was one of Russia's most successful business men. But the billionaire oligarch was steeped in the Communist regime, and used his connections to gain a foothold in the emerging free market. That earned him a lot of enemies - chief among them: A young president Putin.
