Milan Cathedral

Claire DevlinOctober 21, 2015

It is one of Italy's most famous buildings. Added to that it is, in terms of area, one of the largest churches in the world - Milan Cathedral.

The white marble landmark is over 150 meters (492 ft) long and has several colorful windows. Construction work on the church took over five centuries to complete. Over this long period of time many architects were in charge of the building work, which is why the cathedral's workmanship and style vary. Today Milan Cathedral is predominantly gothic, making it an exception in Italian architecture.
