Some 2,000 years ago, a group of German tribes defeated Roman legions — a memory that's immortalized by the Hermann monument.

Our journey begins in the picturesque city of Detmold. Just southwest of the city, the 53-meter Hermann monument pays tribute to a group of Germanic tribes who defeated Roman legions some 2,000 years ago.

Other popular tourist destinations include the Externsteine, a rock formation not far from the monument, and the spa town of Bad Iburg in the Teutoburg Forest. Apart from its famous spas, Bad Iburg also features a stunning castle complex and former monastery.

After that, we move on to Osnabrück, a university town with a historic city hall that was the site of the Peace of Westphalia - the treaties that brought the Thirty Years' War to an end.

Toscho Todorovic, a blues musician from Osnabrück, shows us around the Old Town, takes us to the Felix Nussbaum Museum and the Lagerhalle venue, which is popular with fans of the Blues.
