India and Russia have vowed to expand their ties beyond energy and defense despite Western pressure on New Delhi to scale back its partnership with Moscow. India's PM announced an economic cooperation program.

Russian President Vladimir Putin received a warm welcome in India as he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen bilateral ties. Both leaders announced an economic cooperation plan through 2030, aiming to boost trade to $100 billion, offer free e-visas for Russian tourists, and secure oil supplies for India. Despite US pressure over Russian fuel imports, Modi and Putin reaffirmed independent foreign policies and called for a multipolar world order.
