Seven of Europe's banks have failed stress tests designed to determine the economic health of the continent's banking system. A total of 91 banks underwent the tests. The banks that failed include five Spanish financial institutions - the other two were Germany's Hypo Real Estate and Greece's ATEbank. The tests assessed the banks ability to survive future economic shocks.
