At least 13 people have been killed in flooding in Mozambique. Thousands of homes are underwater, with major damage to critical infrastructure. Aid groups say access to the worst-hit areas is severely limited.

Severe flooding has devastated southern Mozambique, submerging farmland and paralyzing the capital, Maputo. Major roads are underwater, leaving drivers stranded for kilometers and cutting off food supplies and aid. Thousands of kilometers of transport routes are impassable, isolating communities. Families are being evacuated by air, while small businesses and livelihoods are destroyed. Flooding is a recurring threat in Mozambique, but repeated heavy rains are making recovery increasingly difficult.
