"My younger sister was crying incessantly because the whole environment was very new"

I came to Germany to study about a year ago.
I am doing the sustainability and management degree course organized by the GIZ and the Leuphana University Lüneburg. Also right now I am completing an internship at UNESCO.

I remember the first day I went to school.

My father took me and my younger sister to the kindergarten school (run by the catholic mission). My younger sister was crying incessantly because the whole environment was very new and unfamiliar. Nothing could make her stop crying – not even her favorite doll. But then we gave her some sweets to distract her and it worked. She then stopped crying and together she and I stayed there in the kindergarten.

That was the very first experience of my educational career and I still remember that day so vividly.
