North Korea has signed a non-aggression pact with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Singapore. Foreign Minister Pak Ui-Chun signed the Treaty of Amity and Co-operation following the annual meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum. Though the pact has no direct impact on the six-nation efforts to denuclearise Pyongyang, it has been seen as a rare sign on North Korea’s part to reach out to the international community.
