NATO foreign ministers have been meeting in Brussels to discuss bids by five countries to join the alliance. Applicants include the ex-Soviet states of Georgia and Ukraine and the Balkan countries Albania and Croatia. But the candidacy of Macedonia has been the focus of much of Thursday's discussion. Greece is threatening to block membership because of a row over the country's name.
