NATO launches 'Eastern Sentry' to protect eastern EU border

NATO has launched a new mission, "Eastern Sentry," to better protect its eastern flank against potential air attacks from Russia.

After nearly 20 Russian drones breached Polish airspace, NATO launched "Eastern Sentry" to reinforce its eastern flank. The incursion exposed critical gaps in Europe’s air defenses, prompting calls for a "drone wall" along the EU’s eastern border. While some drones were intercepted, experts warn current systems are inadequate. NATO aims to integrate Ukraine’s drone warfare experience, but Russia’s growing drone production poses a serious challenge.
