Representatives from some 200 nations have started a United Nations sponsored conference in Bonn to seek ways to preserve the diversity of animal and plant life faced with threats ranging from global warming to depleted uranium munitions in war zones. Experts say the earth´s biodiversity has declined by almost a third in the last 35 years.
