US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu share a close personal relationship. During an earlier visit to Israel, Trump even called for Netanyahu to be pardoned amid accusations of corruption. 

But cracks are showing as Israeli airstrikes in Gaza continue, humanitarian aid to Palestinians falls short of the amount initially agreed and Trump's peace deal stalls. Meanwhile, Hamas refuses to disarm and Israel has maintained its occupation.
