New UN report on African economic development released

UNCTAD, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, which is in session in Nairobi today, has just launched its 2016 report on economic development in Africa. One of the report's authors offers his insight.

The reports urges the continent to seek alternative sources of revenue such as remittances, public-private partnerships and diaspora bonds instead of just focusing on ODA (Official Development Aid) as well as attracting foreign direct investment and trying to raise money through external debt.

One of the authors of the report, Junior Davis, said that the continent would also be well-advised to reduce illicit financial flows.
