NFC: Paying with your cell phone - And that's just the beginning

Thanks to NFC, it won't be long before you can pay at the supermarket, in restaurants and on public transport with your cell phone. Sounds good - but data protection watchdogs have many reservations.

NFC - "near field communication" - is a set of standards for smartphones and other devices that use interacting electromagnetic radio fields. The technology is set to make mobile payment the mainstream. It's being pioneered in the US by Google's "Google Wallet". Security experts, meanwhile, are voicing serious concerns.
