Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered the country’s largest industrial-scale methamphetamine laboratory in Ogun State. Authorities arrested seven Nigerians and three Mexicans and seized more than 2.4 tons of chemicals as well as crystal meth valued at over €300 million ($345 million).

During a rare on-site court hearing, officials sought approval to dismantle the facility. The case has intensified concerns that international drug cartels are expanding meth production in Nigeria, with security experts warning of links between organized crime and terrorism in West Africa.
