'Nowhere feels safe': Beirut hit by ongoing Israeli strikes

Over 800,000 people have reportedly been displaced in Lebanon as fighting between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies. Some fear this is only the start. DW met families living on the streets and in makeshift shelters.

In Beirut, Ali al‑Zein's family — now living in cars and sleeping on sidewalks — faces overcrowding and the trauma of being uprooted for the second time in two years.

With support from local initiatives, the family and many others are holding on to hope that the violence between Israel and Hezbollah will end soon.
