NRW state election held tomorrow are first test for Merkel's coalition in Berlin

In less than 24 hours' time German Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative-led coalition of her CDU/CSU party and the pro-business free democrats is facing its first test at the ballot box. The CDU State premier may be fighting for his re-election, but the Berlin coalition is defending its majority in the Bundesrat, Germany's upper house of parliament. So the pressure is on to secure the coalition's ability to govern, though both main candidates insist its all about state policies.
