Three things you should/didn’t know about me
I love a good road trip.
I am an introvert in an extroverted world.
I made a switch from accounting to journalism in university. Numbers are not my thing.
An African (dead or alive) I would love to interview
Brenda Fassie or Lucky Dube.
In my home country, you should visit
The ghost town of Kolmanskop in the south of Lüderitz
Favorite African proverb
Avihe vijanda muje. Everything begins and ends with God.
Book recommendation
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I've read a couple of Matt Haig's books, but The Midnight Library is hands down my favorite. He does a brilliant job writing about regrets and how they don't help us move forward.
Can’t get enough of music by
When I miss home, I love listening to Big Ben Kandukira
Favorite vacation spot in Africa
Kalk Bay in Cape Town. It is a beautiful fishing village with fresh seafood and lovely mountain scenery.
The 77 Percent means this to me
When I joined DW, I was super excited to find a show that really gets into the stories and people from all over Africa. Growing up in southern Africa, I got to know the region through TV and music. And now again through the 77 Percent, I am getting a peek into the lives of other Africans. It showed me the issues they're dealing with, the cities they live in, and the dreams and hustles of young Africans everywhere. I hope this show keeps shining that vibrant spotlight on Africa for a long time.
