After the refugee drama off Lampedusa’s coast, Italy has founded the rescue mission “Mare Nostrum". Ships are tracking the boats of refugee smugglers and helping the refugees. In one year, 100,000 refugees were rescued. For financial reasons, the mission is to come to an end in the near future.
