Barack Obama has arrived in Washington ahead of his inauguration as the 44th president of the United States in two days' time. The hopes of a nation in economic turmoil are pinned on Obama, who will make history as the first ever black president of the US. On Saturday, he travelled to Washington by train, a historic journey that harked back to the country's founding fathers.
