Researchers at Berlin's Charité Hospital and the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam have developed a kind of app for tablet PCs that is set to improve cancer care. The software enables all a cancer patient's medical data to be displayed on a monitor - from operative reports to X-rays to lab analyses.

The researchers say in the future, tumor genomic data will also be available. This is a huge advantage for doctors, who will no longer have to spend hours hunting through medical records to find the best therapy for their patients.
