Florian Gallenberger, Director and winner of the Oscar

Since winning the student Oscar in 2001, Florian Gallenberger has gained a reputation as one of Germany's most talented up and coming directors - he's even been called the 'Wunderkind' of German cinema. He's currently working on a movie about John Rabe, a German businessman who rescued thousands of Chinese from the Japanese during the Nanjing massacre of 1937. The film is one of the biggest German productions of recent years and is expected to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in 2009.
