Is this the calm before the storm? The trading rooms in Frankfurt's banks were mostly deserted between Christmas and the New Year. Some say a new banking crisis could be approaching fast. Banks are preparing for leaner times - and cutting back on their payrolls.

Andreas Halin is in an excellent position to observe developments. He has been working as a headhunter for investment banks for more than ten years. He says the coming years will bring a shakedown period for banks, which only the strong will survive. Report by Miriam Schön.
