Pakistan hit by devastating floods

Over 200,000 people have been displaced by flooding in Pakistan. The army has been called into eastern Punjab to assist with rescue and relief efforts. More rain is forecast for the rest of the week.

Deadly floods hit eastern Pakistan as torrential rains cause major rivers to overflow in Punjab province. Over 1.2 million people are affected, with homes, crops, and livestock destroyed. Rescue efforts are underway, but many areas remain unreachable.
