Pakistan: Investigators are combing the area where Benazir Bhutto was killed - je 29.12.2007 12

Pakistan remains tense, after nationwide violence sparked by the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto. Officials say 33 people have died since a suicide attacker killed the former prime minister on Thursday. Meanwhile, controversy´s growing over the exact circumstances of the killing. The Pakistani government says a local Al Qaeda leader was responsible. But his spokesman has denied any involvement. Bhutto´s opposition Pakistan People´s Party has also rejected the government´s version of her death, calling it a cover-up.
