In Karachi, charities host mass Iftar meals as rising Ramadan prices and persistent inflation strain family budgets. Nearly 45% of people in Pakistan live in poverty, leaving many dependent on donated food and Zakat. Worshippers receive biryani and essentials, while widows and laborers say soaring costs make even basic rations hard to afford, despite inflation easing after last year’s 40% spike.
