France spent billions to organize this year's Paris Olympics and Paralympics hoping the Games will bring an economic boost. Will the investment pay off?

To stage the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris this summer, France is expected to around €9 billion ($9.7 billion). That is 15% more than the initial budget but far less than the previous Tokyo Olympics.
