Mobile soil testing vans are helping farmers in Telangana, India to cope with climate change. Operated by ICRISAT scientists, these rolling labs offer free soil analysis. The idea is to help boost crop yields, reduce chemical fertilizer dependency, and get farmers to adopt climate-resilient agricultural practices. Droughts followed by floods have wiped out rice and cotton harvests and depleted soils. Monocultures are also a problem. Under the sustainable agriculture initiative, farmers receive cards listing nutrient levels and crop recommendations. Over 3,000 farmers have been helped since 2023.
