US Vice-President Joe Biden recently outlined a new strategy for war-torn Afghanistan. President Obama's plan foresees the reinforcement of American troops combined with major reconstruction efforts and police-training schemes. The Americans also want to intensify their co-operation with European countries and neighbouring Pakistan. Germany currently has the third-largest force in Afghanistan. But will the new strategy mean new demands on Berlin?
