It´s two years now since a Danish newspaper printed a cartoon depicting the Islamic prophet Mohammed. For many Muslims that was blasphemy ... it unleased a wave of violent protests across the Muslim world. Now similar controversy is surrounding a recently-published version of the Koran written in German for children, which also contains images of the prophet. The book is the work of a German-born teacher of Syrian descent, Lamya Kaddor. And it could be a useful tool as policy makers attempt to introduce German-language Islamic instruction in state schools throughout the country. But conservative Muslims here have slammed it. And they´re also critical of a class textbook Kaddor´s written.
