An increasing number of immigrants into the region of San Martin live from the forest - and are destroying it. People are now learning how to use modern agricultural methods to increase the yields of their coffee plantations.

The "REDD” project is teaching them how to use modern agricultural methods to increase yields from their coffee plantations. This means less space is needed, which makes forest-clearing unnecessary.
