Peshawar: Encircled by Taliban?

02/07/08July 2, 2008

Pakistani security forces have arrested at least 52 alleged militants during an operation in the troubled Khyber Agency tribal district bordering Afghanistan. The government’s offensive comes amid growing concern that Taliban and al-Qaida militants are making inroads into Peshawar, the capital of North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) and trying to impose Taliban-style rule in parts of the city.
