Search and rescue efforts are underway in the central Philippines to find survivors of a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that has killed at least 69 people. The quake toppled buildings and triggered a landslide near Bogo city, on the island of Cebu. Rescue workers are struggling to access more remote areas of the island.

A powerful 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Cebu province in the central Philippines, toppling historic churches and collapsing buildings. Dozens were killed and hundreds injured, overwhelming hospitals in Bogo City. Rescue efforts are hampered by damaged roads and ongoing aftershocks. In San Remigio, a sports complex roof collapse claimed several lives. Electricity and water remain scarce as the search for survivors continues.
