Plunging prices for oil

Crude oil prices are in free fall. Even with wars and conflicts taking place in many oil-producing countries, the price of crude has dropped about 30 percent in the past months.

The price drop is largely due to an oil glut, caused by the proliferation of modern fracking technology in the US and over-production in some export countries. For many of the other exporting countries, the price war poses an ever-greater dilemma. Claudia Laszczak takes a closer look.
