The Hali Hewa video podcast looks at climate initiatives across Africa. We meet its founder and hear about community regeneration efforts in Kenya's Ondiri Wetlands.

In Kenya, Nairobi-based advocate Abigael Kima is changing the narrative with her podcast Hali Hewa—Swahili for “climate.” Since 2022, she has connected scientists, farmers, and activists from 20 African countries, bridging the gap between global discussions about climate change, like the recent COP30 in Brazil, and local realities. Her mission? To make climate conversations accessible and relevant to African communities — and encourage local action. In a recent episode, Abigael joins Kaluki Paul Mutuku at Kenya’s Ondiri Wetland, where community-led efforts are restoring this vital ecosystem. Through storytelling, Hali Hewa educates and inspires hope.
