There is growing big-power rivalry over the Arctic’s massive reserves of valuable natural resources. But at what price? Guests: Michael Paul (security expert), Stefan Rahmstorf (climatologist), Irina Filatova (DW's Russian desk)

Michael Paul is a specialist on security issues and the Arctic with the German Institute for International and Security Affairs. His opinion: "In light of the competing security interests of Russia, China and America, we urgently need a military dialogue."

Stefan Rahmstorf is an oceanographer and climatologist from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. He argues that: "Things that happen in the Arctic don't necessarily stay in the Arctic."
