Polar Research - 30 Years of the Polarstern

For three decades, the ice-breaker RV Polarstern has been a symbol of European polar research. It has taken thousands of scientists to the North and South Poles, enabling them to make major discoveries in marine and climate research.

Michael Weber, a climatologist at the University of Cologne, made several expeditions on board the research vessel. He tells us about his work and life on board the floating marine lab.
