Riot police have moved in on protest camps in the heart of Kyiv, as President Viktor Yanukovich has backed calls for dialogue with the opposition.

Riot police in Ukraine have moved in on protest camps in the heart of the capital, Kiev. They have been pulling down barricades in a bid to dislodge protestors who have been blocking official buildings, demanding the government resign. At the same time, President Viktor Yanukovich has backed calls for dialogue with the opposition.
