Pope Leo arrives in Lebanon to push for peace

Amid rising regional tensions, Pope Leo praised Lebanon's resilience and urged a "path of reconciliation." En route to Beirut, he reaffirmed the Holy See's backing of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Lebanon is a Muslim-majority country with a substantial Christian minority, and the visit by Pope Leo has underscored the Vatican's bid to reinforce its key foothold in the region.
