New York software developer Michael Birken has come up with a new YouTube sensation. Using thousands of Post-it notes, he recreated sequences from the classic Ms. Pac-Man and Super Mario arcade games. But some viewers are asking if this level of precision can actually be achieved without digital enhancements.

Birken used stop-motion techniques to recreate scenes from his favorite classic arcade games. The video clip took many months of work, on the evenings and weekends. He tells Shift how he came up with the idea - and what his boss thought of it.
