Tens of thousands of people rallied in Prague last weekend to show their concern about the state of democracy in their country and the path Czechia is taking under Prime Minister Andrej Babis.

Tens of thousands of people filled Prague's Letna Plain on Saturday to protest the policies of the newly elected government led by populist Prime Minister Andrej Babis.

Demonstrators warned of democratic backsliding, citing proposed changes to public media funding, pressure on civil society organizations and shifts in foreign policy.

The protests, organized by the Million Moments for Democracy movement, reflect growing concern over the country's political direction. Similar mass demonstrations have taken place in the past, including rallies against Babis during his previous term.

While the government rejects the criticism, protesters say they are determined to defend democratic values and hold leaders accountable.
